Unless directed to do so by a police or traffic officer, you MUST NOT
reverse along any part of a motorway, including slip roads, hard shoulders and emergency areas
cross the central reservation
drive against the traffic flow.
If you have missed your exit, or have taken the wrong route, carry on to the next exit.

RULE 263 : ESSENTIAL MOTORWAY SAFETY & PROHIBITIONS
PROHIBITED MOTORWAY MANEUVERS
No Reversing
Drivers must not reverse along any part of a motorway , including slip roads , hard shoulders , and emergency areas .
Do Not Cross the Central Reservation
Crossing the central reservation is strictly forbidden to prevent dangerous interference with oncoming high - speed traffic .
Never Drive Against the Traffic Flow
Driving in the opposite direction of the established traffic flow is a major safety violation and is strictly prohibited .
Follow Official Directions Only. The only exception to these prohibitions is if you are specifically directed to perform a maneuver by a police or traffic officer .

If you miss your exit or realize you have taken the wrong route , you must continue driving to the next available exit .
