THE GOLDEN RULE : FACE THE DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC
THE ' AGAINST THE FLOW '
PROHIBITION
You must always park your vehicle facing the same way as the traffic flow when parked on a road at night .
It is illegal to park facing oncoming traffic at night , as this can confuse other drivers and prevent your rear reflectors from working effectively .
EXCEPTION : RECOGNISED PARKING SPACES
The rule against facing traffic flow does not apply if you are parked within a designated or officially recognised parking bay .
