Goods vehicles. Vehicles with a maximum laden weight of over 7.5 tonnes (including any trailer) MUST NOT be parked on a verge, pavement or any land situated between carriageways, without police permission. The only exception is when parking is essential for loading and unloading, in which case the vehicle MUST NOT be left unattended.

PROHIBITED PARKING ZONES
PERMITTED EXCEPTIONS
Restricted to Vehicles Over 7.5 Tonnes
Applies to goods vehicles > 7.5 tonnes maximum laden weight ( including trailer ) .
Forbidden Parking Areas
Strictly prohibited on verges , pavements , or land between carriageways .
Legal Enforcement
Mandatory under Road Traffic Act 1989 , Section 19 .
Prior Police Permission
Allowed only with explicit permission obtained from the police .
Essential Loading and Unloading
Permitted if essential for loading or unloading goods .
The " No Unattended " Requirement
Vehicle MUST NOT be left unattended at any time during loading / unloading .
