The Mandatory Requirement
Drivers MUST stop for school crossing patrols .
It is a mandatory requirement to halt your vehicle whenever a school crossing patrol is active and displaying the official signal .
The ' Stop for children ' Sign
The specific signal used by authorized persons to indicate that traffic must cease movement for pedestrians .
This road rule is legally backed by Section 28 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act ( RTRA ) .
