Prohibited Maneuvers

The Driveway Sequence

Never reverse from a side road into a main road .

This maneuver is strictly prohibited due to the high risk of collisions with oncoming traffic on the main thoroughfare .

Step 1 : Reverse into the driveway .

When arriving at your destination , back into the driveway from the road when it is safe to do so .

Step 2 : Drive out forward .

By reversing in first , you ensure you can drive out forward with maximum visibility of the road and pedestrians .

Prioritize forward exits .

Rule 201 specifies to " Reverse in and drive out if you can " to maintain the highest level of safety .
