Toucan, puffin and equestrian crossings. These are similar to pelican crossings, but there is no flashing amber phase; the light sequence for traffic at these three crossings is the same as at traffic lights. If the signal-controlled crossing is not working, proceed with extreme caution. Do not enter the crossing if you are unable to completely clear it, to avoid obstructing pedestrians, cyclists or horse riders.

THREE SPECIALIZED CROSSING TYPES
This rule applies specifically to Toucan , Puffin , and Equestrian crossings .
Safe Execution & Movement
Equestrian Crossing Horse Riders
Red
Red & Amber
STANDARD SIGNAL SEQUENCE
The light sequence for traffic at these three crossings is identical to standard traffic lights found at junctions .
Amber
NO FLASHING AMBER PHASE
Unlike Pelican crossings , these signals do not use a flashing amber light ; drivers must follow the solid light colors .
DO NOT BLOCK THE CROSSING
Only enter the crossing area if you are certain you can completely clear it on the other side .
PREVENT OBSTRUCTION
Maintaining a clear crossing prevents the dangerous obstruction of pedestrians , cyclists , or horse riders .
