Follow the Direction of Signs
Traffic must travel strictly in the direction indicated by official one - way street signage .
Watch for Contraflow Lanes
Be aware that buses and / or cycles may have dedicated lanes to travel against the main flow of traffic .
Legal Compliance : These rules are governed by Law RTA 1988 section 36 and RTRA sections 5 & 8 .
Going Left ? Use the Left - Hand Lane: Unless signs or markings indicate otherwise , position your vehicle in the left lane to exit left .
