Mastering Lane Discipline : Rule 137 for Dual Carriageways
Primary Position : The Left - Hand Lane
On a two - lane dual carriageway , your default position should always be the left - hand lane unless maneuvering .
Moving Right : Overtaking and Turning
Use the right - hand lane exclusively for overtaking slower vehicles or when preparing to make a right - hand turn .
The Return : Rejoin the Left Lane
After you have finished overtaking , you must move back into the left- hand lane as soon as it is safe to do so .
