If you need to change lane, first use your mirrors and if necessary take a quick sideways glance to make sure you will not force another road user to change course or speed. When it is safe to do so, signal to indicate your intentions to other road users and when clear, move over.

Begin by using your mirrors to assess the traffic behind and beside you to determine if a gap is available .

Step 3 : Signal Your Intentions

Once you have determined it is safe , use your indicators to signal your move to all other road users .

Step 4 : Move Over When Clear

Confirm the path remains clear and then smoothly transition into the new lane .
