The only valid reason to flash your headlights is to let other road users know that you are there . This is a neutral alert intended for visibility and safety , rather than a directive for other drivers to take action .
Do not flash your headlights to convey any specific messages , such as telling someone they can turn or thanking another driver .
Using your headlights as a tool to intimidate , harass , or pressure other road users is strictly forbidden under Rule 110 .
Do Not Use as a Weapon
Avoid ' flashing ' as a sign of anger or to force slower drivers to change lanes .
