RULE 93 :
NAVIGATING SUN GLARE SAFELY
THE HAZARD : SUN DAZZLE
" Dazzle " occurs when bright sunlight temporarily blinds or severely impairs a driver's vision , making it dangerous to maintain normal speeds .
STEP 1 : SLOW DOWN
Upon being dazzled by sunlight , the immediate required action is to reduce the vehicle's speed to maintain control .
STEP 2 : STOP IF NECESSARY
If slowing down does not sufficiently restore clear vision , the driver must bring the vehicle to a complete halt until it is safe to proceed .
