Mandatory Safety Equipment

Two Red Rear Reflectors

Every horse - drawn vehicle is required to have two red reflectors positioned at the rear to improve visibility for following traffic .

Nighttime Driving Requirements

Safety Preference : Avoid Night Driving

Official guidance states it is significantly safer to avoid operating horse - drawn vehicles after dark whenever possible .

Mandatory Dual- Directional Lighting

If driving at night , a light showing white to the front and red to the rear MUST be fitted to the vehicle .
