Rule 31 : Emergency Vehicle Safety for Pedestrians
Keep Off the Road
If you identify an emergency vehicle with active signals , the mandatory action is to stay off or immediately move away from the road surface .
Recognized Emergency Vehicles : This rule applies to ambulances , fire engines , police cars , and any other designated emergency vehicles .
Active Warning Signals : Be alert for vehicles approaching with flashing blue lights , active headlights , and / or sirens .
